On December 16, 2009, a new page was opened in the history of South Ossetia and Nauru, the foundation of friendly relations was created, the congratulatory message of Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Trade and Finance of Nauru on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two republics reads.
“Confirming our readiness to continue working to strengthen bilateral cooperation, we express confidence that the intensification of further cooperation, built on the principles of mutual friendship, trust and mutual understanding, will serve for the benefit of our countries and peoples,” the congratulatory message published on the official website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia reads.
