On January 10, a document between Russia and South Ossetia on the abolition of export customs duties on the export of Russian oil products and gas to the Republic comes into force.

The protocol of amendments to the agreement on the trade regime between the countries was published on the portal of legal acts. The document was signed in Moscow on December 30, 2023.

According to the document, it also provides for the abolition of export customs duties for plastics and products made from them, aluminum and ferrous metals and products from them, and a number of other metallurgical products.

The abolition of duties applies only to those volumes of supplies that are agreed upon by the countries. Above these volumes, the rate in force in Russia is applied.
