Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev sent a congratulatory message to the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in connection with his appointment to the post of Minister, the department’s press service reports.
Dzhioev has noted that Lavrov is the experienced diplomat and patriot of Russia, a man of high moral qualities, a firm and consistent supporter of balanced and responsible decisions.
“Thanks to your highest professionalism, you successfully defend the state interests of Russia. I am convinced that your consistency and integrity will give impetus to the process of improving the strategic partnership of the Russian Federation with other friendly countries, the formation of multi-polarity and the strengthening of peace,” the Minister’s message says.
The head of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry also noted the high level of cooperation between the two countries, the development and improvement of bilateral integration processes, and expressed gratitude to Lavrov for his personal contribution and comprehensive assistance in strengthening the South Ossetian-Russian friendly relations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees appointing members of the new government of the Russian Federation and directors of services.
By the decree, the head of state appointed Sergei Lavrov as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, thus leaving him in his previous position.
Lavrov has been working as head of the Russian Foreign Ministry for more than 20 years.
