President of South Ossetia is participating in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Republic of Ossetia-Alania. This was reported by the Presidential Press Secretary Natalya Bosikova.
Among the guests of honor are Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Yuri Chaika and the heads of the subjects of the district.
The South Ossetian President presented the head of North Ossetia, Sergei Menyailo, with the first commemorative coin in honor of the 100th anniversary of the formation of North Ossetia-Alania.
“For a significant date - the 100th anniversary of the formation of North Ossetia-Alania, the National Bank of the Republic of South Ossetia, on my instructions, a commemorative coin was made. It is symbolic that I present the first coin to you, dear Sergei Ivanovich, on such a significant day for all of us,” Gagloev said.
The obverse of the coin depicts the state emblem of the Republic of South Ossetia.
On the reverse of the coin in the center against the background of the linear silhouette of Table Mountain is a relief image of a column installed in the center of the Glory Memorial in the city of Vladikavkaz, crowned with a statue of St. George the Victorious, the patron saint of Ossetia.
