In July, 24 violators of the established legal regimes were detained in South Ossetia at various sections of the state border of the Republic, including 14 violators of the state border regime and 10 violators of the border regime, the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia reports.
"For each fact of violation of legal regimes, the border service of the State Security Committee conducted investigations, as a result of which administrative measures were applied with explanatory work. In particular, 17 people were subject to an administrative fine, two were expelled from South Ossetia, warnings were issued to four violators, and the investigation of one detainee is ongoing," the press service has noted.
The KGB Border Service has reminded citizens and guests of the Republic planning to travel to the settlements located in the border zone, including for recreation and to attend festive or memorial events, of the need to have identification documents with them: a passport, an official ID, a birth certificate (for minors), and for foreign citizens, in addition, a pass to the border zone.
"We draw the attention of the heads of the district and rural administrations to the fact that in order to carry out agricultural work in the areas located in the border zone of South Ossetia, it is necessary to obtain the appropriate permits for economic activity in advance," the KGB Border Service has noted.
It has been added that residents living in the border zone, keeping and grazing livestock, must have a passport of a citizen of the Republic of South Ossetia with a registration stamp at the place of stay within the territories of the settlements located in the border zone.
"Intentional violation of the legal regimes established at the state border and border territory entails not only administrative, but in some cases criminal liability," the department has clarified.
