South Ossetia is strengthening its position in the Russian market and agreed to expand the supply of export products to the Sverdlovsk region. This was reported to IA "Res" by trade representative of South Ossetia in Russia Taimuraz Goginov.
The agreements were reached on the sidelines of one of the largest food and beverage exhibitions "InterFood Ural", being held from October 30 to November 1 in Yekaterinburg.
"Some products from the Republic have already been exported to the Sverdlovsk region, now this line will be expanded. I believe that such exhibitions make the "South Ossetia" brand more recognizable. I would like to note that a warm welcome was felt everywhere at the "InterFood Ural". Our stand was visited by Minister of Economy and Territorial Development of the Sverdlovsk Region Ruslan Sadykov, Minister of Agro-Industrial Complex and Consumer Market Anna Kuznetsova and Deputy Governor of the Region Dmitry Ionin,” Goginov said.
He has added that the agreement signed between the governments of South Ossetia and the Sverdlovsk Region on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2023 helps in developing business in the Republic and opens up new opportunities.
“At the exhibition, we also touched upon the tourism potential of the Republic. We discussed with the Minister of Economy the prospects of our agreement and what investment ideas we can offer to the Ural investors. We have also agreed to work out the issue and conduct a business mission of the Ural businessmen in South Ossetia,” the trade representative has shared.
He has noted that the products manufactured in the Republic are of high quality and highly competitive.
“Of course, everyone who visited our stand and tested the products were surprised by the quality and were interested in them. “Of course, positive feedback from the companies that will sell the South Ossetian products in the markets of the Ural Federal District is very important to us,” Goginov said.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the South Ossetian delegation held dozens of meetings with the companies wishing to buy products manufactured in the Republic.
“We will try to come to the InterFood Ural next year in a larger composition and with new exporters, since new enterprises focused on export are opening in the Republic,” the trade representative noted.
Goginov has added that in the near future the trade mission will work out the agreements with the InterFood Ural, after which preparations will begin for the large-scale international exhibition Prodexpo, which will be held in February 2025.
