Over the years, the North Caucasus Parliamentary Association has become the effective tool for promoting the development of the rule of law and parliamentarism, as well as a platform for strengthening the brotherhood of the peoples of the Caucasus, - the head of the legislative body of South Ossetia Alan Margiev, said at the XI conference of the Association.

The event is taking place in the capital of the Chechen Republic - Grozny, the press service of the Parliament of the Republic reports.

Delegations from various regions of Russia are taking part in the conference.

Alan Margiev welcomed the participants of the event on behalf of President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, the Parliament and people of the Republic, having noted the role of parliamentarism in the development of the North Caucasus Federal District.

According to him, the North Caucasus Federal District in recent years has shown good growth in all areas - both economic and social.

"The positive dynamics is largely due to legislative activity in the subjects of the district in interaction with federal bodies - the Federation Council and the State Duma and with each other," Margiev emphasized.

Chairman of Parliament of South Ossetia expressed words of gratitude for the high level of organization of the forum and the traditional hospitality of the organizers - the Chechen Republic.

"For us, participation in the work of today's conference is very important. We are adopting experience, strengthening and developing inter-parliamentary ties with the fraternal peoples of the North Caucasus," the Speaker said and wished the participants of the event fruitful work.

Margiev has noted that today the fraternal peoples of Russia and South Ossetia are fighting shoulder to shoulder on the fronts of the special military operation.

"We are confident that victory will be ours, and we hope that our brothers, the warriors who are today defending peaceful future for our generations, will soon return home safe and sound," Margiev said.
