The main goal of the International Public Movement "Supreme Council of Ossetians" ("Styr Nykhas") is to preserve the cultural and historical values of the people, the head of the South Ossetian branch of the organization Leonid Tibilov, has noted.
"We set ourselves the task of preserving the identity of the Ossetian people, national pride and patriotism," Tibilov has emphasized.
According to him, the Styr Nykhas branch plans to cooperate with the leadership of South Ossetia, civil institutions and political associations.
"Cooperation will not be limited only to the Ossetian community, the ties will also be established with the Russian public organizations," Tibilov has noted.
He said that in the near future he would take part in the opening of a monument and street named after Issa Pliev in Volgograd.
"We intend to expand contacts and maintain ties with the Ossetian diasporas," the head of the South Ossetian branch of the international public movement said.
According to him, the "Supreme Council of Ossetians" operates in accordance with the charter registered at the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.
"This is one of three similar international movements in Russia," Leonid Tibilov has emphasized.
