President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev took part in the reception on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the press service of the head of state reports.
The reception was held as part of the celebrations in the Faceted Chamber of the Kremlin.
Vladimir Putin once again congratulated the heads of the foreign delegations, the honored guests on Victory Day and proposed a toast to the glorious generation of victors, the triumph of truth and justice, and the prosperity of countries and peoples.
“We know how vitally important solidarity and support were for the fighting people of the Soviet Union – the support from allies, friends, and comrades in arms.
We will forever remain grateful to all our friends and comrades. I consider it important that today we are celebrating the anniversary of the Great Victory together, remembering those who gave all their strength for the freedom of their native country and the whole world, sacrificed themselves in the name of saving humanity,” Putin said.
According to him, time is increasingly separating us from the events of World War II.
“But all the higher is our responsibility for preserving the values established by the Great Victory, for passing on to future generations the truth about how and in the name of what it was won, our conviction that the unity of people around the ideals of peace, freedom and justice has unlimited power,” the head of the Russian state has emphasized.
