South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev met with a delegation from the Russian Society "Knowledge" to discuss the launch of a large-scale educational project to create a "House of Knowledge" in the Republic.

The delegation has included Georgy Budny, Deputy General Director for Regional Development and International Cooperation; Roman Marchenko, Director of the Krasnodar Krai branch of the Russian Society "Knowledge", Chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Movement "Young Russia"; and Alexander Selivanov, Deputy Director of the Department of International Activities.

Gagloev welcomed the guests, noting the historical ties and strategic partnership between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.

"South Ossetia made its choice long ago. Our ancestors set a vector toward our great homeland, the Russian Federation, and so we continue to follow this path today," Gagloev has noted, emphasizing the Republic's unwavering strategic direction.

He reaffirmed his readiness to implement joint projects in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres, noting the positive dynamics of cooperation with the Presidential Grants Fund and the Cultural Initiatives Fund.

"Today, Ossetian youth, together with Russian soldiers, are defending our common homeland and upholding our shared future. This once again confirms our connection to our great Motherland," the President has stressed.

He has also emphasized that South Ossetia honors its history and the values passed down by older generations and will not allow them to be eroded.

The President noted the importance of supporting youth, calling them the future of the Republic.

"We simply must, in these difficult times, raise the spirit of patriotism, because the collective West is doing everything possible to replace or distort the values deeply ingrained in us," Gagloev said, emphasizing the need to counter external influences.

The President expressed his deep gratitude to the Russian leadership for their support and fruitful cooperation. He particularly noted the instructions given by Russian President Vladimir Putin and their rapid implementation, which began with Sergei Kiriyenko's visit earlier this year.

He expressed gratitude to Vladimir Putin, Sergei Kiriyenko, and the entire team actively working with South Ossetia, emphasizing their professionalism and sincere attitude toward the Republic.

"South Ossetia considers Russia as a fraternal nation, as its own great homeland. We feel exactly the same attitude from our colleagues. This is very valuable; we appreciate it, and we are proud of it," the President has emphasized.

Georgy Budny expressed his gratitude to Alan Gagloev for organizing the meeting and the warm atmosphere.

He has stressed that the Russian Society "Knowledge" is not a new organization, but a structure with a rich history, the activities of which after the end of the Great Patriotic War were aimed at educating and developing society.

"The organization's goal was precisely to restore the Soviet society and education in order to make qualitative leaps in various fields of science, economics, industrialization, engineering, and so on," Budny said.

He has noted that many members of the older generation remember the educational work of the All-Union Society "Knowledge" and warmly welcome its revival.

"In 2021, our president has set a serious goal: to revive this oldest educational organization, and not just restore and relaunch it, but also to utilize all modern formats for delivering information," Budny has stressed.

He also noted the diversity of projects and tools for delivering information.

"It's not just lectures. We truly have a wide range of projects, and disseminating information today uses various tools and different possibilities," he has noted.

Budny has noted that information has become more accessible today, but at the same time, "the quality of this information and knowledge is suffering."

"And here we would very much like to be a reliable partner in disseminating reliable and, above all, up-to-date information," the Deputy General Director has stated.

He emphasized the shared history and victories, especially in the context of the Great Patriotic War, noting the importance of countering attempts to distort the facts.

"We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work and develop educational activities. We are happy to share our experience and integrate successful practices and educational projects," Budny expressed his readiness for cooperation.

He has also noted that South Ossetia can offer its unique experience and specific work, which will be useful for the development of projects of the Russian Knowledge Society.

"And, of course, we are interested in implementing some specific joint projects aimed at realizing shared interests and adhering to common political narratives," Budny has concluded, emphasizing the importance of working together to strengthen partnership.

The meeting was also attended by Russian Ambassador to the Republic Marat Kulakhmetov, Presidential Adviser Alan Pliev, and Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office Alan Tibilov.
