The Cultural Bridge between the Ural and Ossetia: The Ural-Caucasus Festival held in Tskhinval

The "Ural-Caucasus: Connecting Threads" festival, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Aslan-Girey Galati Sverdlovsk Cultural Society and the So-Deistvie Center Foundation, took place at the Chermen State Cinema and Concert Hall in Tskhinval.

The Festival guests' introduction to the culture and traditions of the Urals began with the "We Are 20 Years Old!" exhibition, featuring books and materials dedicated to the Ural region and the organizations' twenty years of activity.

Following the exhibition, the spectators were able to watch a film of the same name, which tells the story of the history and achievements of these organizations.

Liana Gagloite, Chairperson of the Aslan-Girey Galati Sverdlovsk Regional Public Organization and the Honored Cultural Figure of the Republic of South Ossetia, delivered a welcoming speech.

"Living in the Ural, we were tirelessly representing Ossetia in all its diversity. Now the time has come to reveal the beauty and richness of the Urals to Ossetia," Gagloite. said

In his speech, the organization's founder, Andrei Gabaraev, emphasized his long-standing connection with Yekaterinburg, where he lived for 30 years.

According to Gabaraev, it was the desire to introduce Ossetia to Ural customs and traditions that inspired him to hold the festival. Concluding his speech, he wished everyone peace and love.

Deputy Minister Madina Ostaeva read out a welcoming address from South Ossetia's Minister of Culture, Rada Dzagoeva.

"The project aims to preserve and promote cultural ties between the Sverdlovsk Region and the two Ossetia. We wish the organizers continued success in holding similar events that consolidate society and guide it toward a single, peaceful path of high art, designed to unite," the welcoming address stated.

As part of the festival, the Sverdlovsk Children's Philharmonic Musical Theater presented a concert program, "City of Lovers." Six of the theater's soloists, led by director and the Golden Mask Award winner Maria Vinenkova, performed popular songs and contemporary pop hits, as well as two songs in the Ossetian language.

It is significant that the festival is taking place in the year of the 70th birthday of Andrei Gabaraev, the founder of the Sverdlovsk Cultural Society named after Aslan-Girey Galati and the So-deistvie Center Foundation.

A native of Tskhinval, he dedicated his life to strengthening cultural ties between the Ural and Ossetia and was awarded a Patriarchal Certificate, the Honorary Certificate from the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, and numerous other awards.

Andrei Gabaraev is the author of 12 museum projects in the Ural, including one at the Uralmashplant, and the creator of the Galaev House-Museum in Tskhinval.
