The heads of the National Bank of South Ossetia and Goznak discussed the prospects for issuing investment gold coins.

The prospects for issuing investment gold coins were discussed at a meeting between Soslan Bekoev, Chairman of the National Bank of South Ossetia, and the management of Goznak, according to the Bank of Alania press service.

The press service has clarified that Soslan Bekoev discussed cooperation between the National Bank of South Ossetia and Andrey Kuryatnikov, Deputy General Director for International Activities and Business Development at the joint-stock company Goznak; Oleg Syrchenkov, Head of the Product Promotion Office at the Goznak; and Andrey Ivantsov, Director of the Moscow Mint.

"The parties discussed the prospects for issuing investment gold coins. The supply of gold bars to the National Bank of South Ossetia was also discussed. "Investment gold coins and bars will form the basis of Bank Alania's gold and foreign exchange reserves," the press service stated.

During the meeting, measures were discussed to implement the previously reached agreements regarding the placement and sale of the Bank Alania coins and banknotes in the Moscow Mint and St. Petersburg Mint stores.

The management of the National Bank of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Goznak JSC also agreed to issue the first series of base metal coins in the history of the National Bank of the Republic of South Ossetia, followed by a series of coins minted using the unique "Plamet" technology.
