Its been four days since the roads were closed by the Georgian side on the Kekhvi-Tamarasheni part of the Trans Caucasian Highway. Goods, food, fuel and sowing corn for remote Ossetian villages piled up there. This issue was discussed today over the telephone between Boris Chochiev, JCC Co-chairman from South Ossetian side and Merab Antadze, JCC Co-chairman from the Georgian side. After having consultations Merab Antandze admitted that he could not solve the problem as the goods, meant for remote Ossetian villages, were considered smuggling. Thus the Georgian side continues to implement its policy against remote Ossetian villages. The aim was to increase tension. Boris Chochiev demanded to solve the problem in the framework of the existing agreements otherwise the Ossetian side will take adequate measures.
