The statement of the deputy assistant of the state secretary of the USA Matthew Braze, that the status of South Ossetia should be defined within the limits of a uniform Georgian state, speaks for the fact that the United States of America stand behind all the events. Juriy Dzitstsojty, the vice-chairman of the Parliament of RSO, has declared about it today to the correspondent of the agency «Res».
To his words, «namely the United States have prompted Georgia the idea of «granting» an expanded autonomy to South Ossetia in a structure of Georgia and the creation of a commission in Georgia on defining the status of South Ossetia. As there is no South Ossetia in the constitution of Georgia, Dmitriy Sanakoev cannot be the president of South Ossetia. They have understood it and have changed his status to «a chairman of a temporary administration». However they will remove the prefix «temporary» after they achieve their aim».
«I am assured that if Georgia should not have such an adviser as the USA, these questions would have been solved in another way, as it was in 2004. The USA have their own interest on the Caucasus as well as on the Balkans, and they will realize it, not taking anybody into account», Dzitstsojty has noted.
