The Ministry of Construction established upon presidential decree on January 22, 2011, will deal with road construction and rehabilitation of municipal sites. This was announced today in Tskhinval by the Minister Chermen Khugaev. According to him, the State Committee for the implementation of rehabilitation projects regardless of the establishment of the Ministry of Construction will retain its functions.
"With regard to private and municipal housing, it remains a part of the state committee. The Committee was created when there was an urgent need to reconstruct the Republic. And I think that it had perfectly well accomplished its tasks. From now on, our Ministry will deal with construction of roads and burnt down buildings of the parliament, theater, schools, kindergartens, museums in Tskhinval," said the Minister.
As Khugaev noted, the new Ministry would embrace State Committee for Architecture, Urban Planning and Land of South Ossetia, the Road Department and the Department of Capital Construction.
"As to State Unitary Enterprise " Dorekspostroy", it will be the general contractor of our Ministry," noted Khugaev.
It is worth reminding that upon the January 22 Decree of the President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity the Republic, the Ministry of Construction was established and Chermen Khugaev was appointed as the Minister.
