Tomorrow, on February 4, a meeting within the frameworks of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) to take place in the Georgian village of Ergenti located in the area adjacent to the border with South Ossetia.
According head of South Ossetian delegation in the IPRM Merab Chigoev reported to IA RES, one of the issues that the South Ossetian delegation intends to raise at tomorrow's meeting is the fate of the Russian constructor detained by Georgian authorities on 14 January.
"We are talking about a Russian citizen Khuratov, who was detained in Georgia for crossing the South Ossetian-Georgian border. We intend to clarify the charges against him and in what conditions he is kept ", said Chigoev.
Also, he said, the South Ossetian delegation plans to include in the agenda the issue of Georgian citizens detained in South Ossetia for the illegal crossing of the state border, and who often do not have any identification documents.
"Our law enforcement agencies submitted an equiry to the Georgian side about these detainees, but the Georgian authorities were either late with providing required documents or did not send them at all. Due to this, the courts are unable to decide on handover of the detainees in a timely manner ", said Chigoev.
He said that South Ossetia would once again raise questions about the missing citizens and gas supply to Leningor district of South Ossetia.
The agreement on the establishment of the IPRM was reached during the fourth round of Geneva talks on security in the Caucasus, in February 2009. The previous IRPM meeting was held on December 10, 2010.
