The Georgian leadership must confirm the obligations of not applying force against South Ossetia and Abkhazia. This has been declared by the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RF Sergey Lavrov at the meeting with the leadership of the RSO in Tskhinval. "Our purpose – is that people of South Ossetia must live in peace, live well, and we shall help them in every way.
The Russian side highly appreciates the step of South Ossetia on adopting the memorandum about non-applying of force. Such memorandum is being prepared by the leadership of Abkhazia, and I have no doubt that the Georgian side will unconditionally confirm their own obligation of not applying force against South Ossetia and Abkhazia", - has said Lavrov. He has noted that the Russian Federation has been actively empathizing with the processes, which have been taking place in South Ossetia, and tries as much as possible to help in overcoming the consequences of the Georgian aggression. "Actually, the complex plan of rehabilitation of the Republic for 2008-2010 has been completely accomplished. At present we are observing the intergovernmental commission, which usually works energetically; the investment program has been created for the current year. Also, the straight assistance to the budget of South Ossetia is provided ", - has said Lavrov. The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the Russian Federation highly appreciates the warm attitude to Russian language, Russian culture, to the compatriots, who live in the Republic. "There are very important relations between our people, between our countries", - has noticed Lavrov. He has assured that in the nearest future all fundamental documents on establishing the interstate allied relations will be signed. "Today many people continue to assess the events of 2008 in their own way. And they are worried not about welfare of the South-Ossetian and Abkhazian people, but about their own geopolitical interests", - has added Lavrov. The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has also expressed his gratitude for traditional warm hospitality, rendered the Russian delegation. "We have felt your hospitality at once after entering the Rokskiy tunnel. This is really a very touching thing, and we appreciate such kind of attitude", - he has concluded. In turn, the President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity has said that the ossetian people are very grateful to Russia for rendering assistance in the international recognition of South Ossetia. "We are also grateful for all the agreements which are being completed in full. Once again I want to declare that the Russian Federation always was, is and will be our main strategic partner. Russia for us – is a fraternal state", - has said Kokoity. According to his words, for present-day it has been signed 51 agreements between South Ossetia and the Russian Federation. "Today three more agreements will be signed. Russia is helping us in the formation of the Republic of South Ossetia, and, having signed the next agreements, we’ll show everybody that the interrelations, kept in full, - are being established", - has emphasized the Head of the Republic. Eduard Kokoity has also declared that South Ossetia is intending to use in future the tribune of Geneva debates to carry to the whole world the truth about the events in South Ossetia. "At the Geneva debates we are going to announce again our peaceful initiative – the signing of the memorandum about non-usage of force, and once again declare that South Ossetia is ready to fulfill the agreement Medvedev-Sarkozi", - has noted the President. In conclusion, the Head of the state has called all the concerned sides to conduct the normal dialogue to do utmost for setting up peace in South Ossetia and Abkhazia. In Tskhinval Lavrov has been received by the President of the RSO Eduard Kokoity. Also, several russian-.south-ossetian agreements have been signed. . Besides, according to the schedule of the visit the Russian delegation has laid flowers on the memorial of the perished heroes in the courtyard of the school №5, has examined the constructed complex of the RF Embassy in the RSO, as well as the stadium and the sports complex named after Alina Kabaeva. Sergey Lavrov has also visited the micro-district "Moscovskiy".
