The congratulation of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity with the Border Guard Day. Dear soldiers and officers! Dear warriors-border guards! From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you all the people of South Ossetia with the Border Guard Day! The strong border protection – is a point of honour for everyone, who has to wear the green service cap, who reverently honours the imperishable laws of the military comradeship and mutual assistance. The State border and the reliable system of its protection were always the essential attributes of sovereignty of the country.
For us – the south ossetians, the notion-a border, vigilance, honour and patriotism has quite a concrete meaning. The strategic importance of strengthening security in our state borders has been lately increased. So the life of a warrior-border guard in the independent South Ossetia has become the everyday component of our republic. The service on the border tollgates, on patrol in the mountain gorges, in the wood trails have become the vocation, the debt and sense of life for the warriors- border guards; many of them with weapon in hand have been recently repelling the georgian aggression. It`s impossible to overestimate the role of the leadership of the Russian Federation, the Federal Security Service of Russia, its Border management in the formation and consolidation of the frontier bodies of South Ossetia. After concluding the Agreement of common efforts on guarding the state border of South Ossetia the enormous work on strengthening the borders of the Republic has been carried out in short time. The work is not completed yet, but we can say that the protection of the border is secured. Dear warriors- border guards! The specifics of your service consist in that you always stand on the front line, facing the enemy and danger, defending the peaceful life of the country and its population. Safety of the boundary today – means not only the protection of borders of the Fatherland from the armed aggressions. It`s also fighting with terrorism, and prevention of smuggling and illegal migration. Only the professionals, patriots like you – the border guards of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation- are able to carry out these complicated tasks. I am sure that in future you will also continue to serve suitably, promoting prosperity and peace in our Native land. I wish you strength of spirit, optimism, vigour, family happiness, success in your service, work, in all good initiations!
