The South-Ossetian sportsmen have been invited to take part in the Ninth Sports and Games of People of the Southern Federal District and the North Caucasian Federal District with participation of teams of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. As the Deputy Chief of Department on Physical Training and Sports of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the RSO Vladimir Tedeev informed the news agency "Res", the «games will start in Anapa on October, 4 and will last till October, 10.
The competitions will include 23 various sports: arm-wrestling, boxing, freestyle wrestling and Greco-Roman style, basketball, volleyball, cycling, judo, indoor soccer, track and field athletics and weight lifting, table tennis, tae kwon do, sambo, swimming, chess etc.» As he has said, the South -Ossetian team will include: arm-wrestlers, boxers, judoists, chess players, tennis players, and also representatives of table tennis, indoor soccer, track and field athletics and weight lifting. It should be noted that the South -Ossetian sportsmen annually took part in this sports action and often became the winners and the prize-winners in various sports.
