The head of the press service has noted that the ITS is well-informed about the fate of more than 17.5 million people. "We want to inform people about the fact that the ICRC is carrying out its coordinating role of the International Tracing Service by the end of 2012, the ICRC wishes to draw the attention of the public, youth and the non-governmental organizations to the opportunity to help people, searching for their relatives, who have been missing since the World War II, were imprisoned in concentration camps or were sent to forced labor, - explained the agency interlocutor. - They may apply to the ICRC until the end of the year with these issues, and members of the Committee will help with registration request to the ITS. The head of the press service added that the lectures on the basics of international humanitarian law would be held for students of different faculties of the South Ossetian State University and the high school students. The film tells about the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement since Henry Dunant and the Battle of Solferino to the present day, - said Tedety. - It describes the meaning of the Geneva Conventions, the universal humanitarian principles which constitute the basis of the .Movement activities. According to her, the film also describes the actions of the various parts of the Movement - the ICRC, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent and the National Societies aimed at helping those in need. The ICRC employee added that the events would also include the film screenings "Missing people" and "Women and War." "The first film tells about the work, which the present staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross is carrying out on searching for the missing people lost in the armed conflicts, - explained the ICRC spokesperson. - And the second film is devoted to stories of the women affected by war."
