The position of the Western countries on the situation in the South Caucasus will not change in the near future.
This was stated by a Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia Mira Tskhovrebova, commenting on the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her visit to Georgia.
"We cannot interfere in the foreign policy of the United States. Therefore, I believe that no comments in this regard should be given. But what about the '' territorial integrity'' of Georgia, it is clear that this is the position of the West and in the near future one should not expect any changes in this regard", - said a Vice-Speaker. In her opinion, this attitude of the West will not impact on the decision of specific strategic and tactical objectives, facing South Ossetia.
"Hillary Clinton is traveling through the South Caucasus, and as they say, a favorable wind. They have recognized the neutral passports of Georgia - God help them. We're not failing to act, too. We hope that with the support of Russia, we will host the embassies of those countries that consider it necessary and important to recognize our independence,"- underlined Tskhovrebova.
It should be noted that the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during the two-day visit to Georgia, declared about the United States recognition of the Georgian "neutral passports" for the residents of South Ossetia and Abkhazia; she has also appealed to Russia to withdraw its troops from these republics.
