Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia has made today a statement in connection with an armed provocation of Georgia at the border of the Republic.
"What has happened at the border cannot be regarded only as a dangerous provocation; this is a consequence of the policy of the Georgian authorities, who for the last months have been accumulating the police and military presence at the border of the Republic of South Ossetia", - said the Minister.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Georgia's actions testify to a challenge to the countries and international organizations that focus their efforts on security and stability in the South Caucasus.
Condemning the irresponsible actions of the Tbilisi authorities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia has declared that the responsibility for buildup tension and possible consequences will lay on the Georgian side.
"Reaffirming the commitment of the Republic of South Ossetia to strengthen peace and stability, as well as the willingness to carry out the international legal obligations of the parties to maintain peace and not to use force, we need a tough assessment of the international community of the destructive actions and provocations of Georgia. We need to force Georgia to give up its dangerous and futile policy of supporting and escalating tension, threats of provocations "- is said in the statement.
Foreign Ministry has reminded that September 29, 2012, at 3:40 am in the village of Karzman in Dzausky district of South Ossetia with small arms and grenade launchers was fired the Border Patrol post of KGB of South Ossetia.
