Prospects for negotiations at the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia, the next round of which is scheduled for the end of March, were discussed at a meeting of the RF Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin with co-chairs of the talks.

"February 1, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin received co-chairs of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia – the EU special spokesman Fillip Lefor, the UN special envoyTurunen and the OSCE spokesman Andriy Deschitsa" – is said in a message posted on the Foreign Ministry website.
"They exchanged views on the status and prospects of the Geneva discussions, including in the context of the next meeting, scheduled for the end of March 2013. The meeting discussed the situation at the borders of Abkhazia and South Ossetia with Georgia, which is now relatively quiet. It was also touched upon the work of the mechanisms on prevention the incidents in the region ", - the report says.
At the meeting was confirmed joint intention to contribute to the Geneva results, particularly in the security field.
