South Ossetia precludes the establishment of any relations with Georgia unless Georgia recognizes the independence of the Republic and the genocide of the Ossetian people. This was announced today at a meeting of the South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov with the heads of ministries and departments. According to him, all other options should be considered as statements of personal nature.

"We have repeatedly voiced our principles on this issue. South Ossetia will not have any relations with Georgia unless it recognizes our independence and the genocide of our people, "- underlined the president.
He has stressed that Georgia must give a political and legal assessment of its actions against South Ossetia since 1989.
"The document of non-use of force against South Ossetia must be signed by Georgia within the framework of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia", - added Tibilov.
He has noted that these are only the basic requirements, stressing that any contact between South Ossetia and Georgia is excluded without their execution.
"If the Georgian authorities ever meet these demands, maybe we'll start a dialogue with them," - said the head of state.
He stressed that South Ossetia had drawn up a policy of rapprochement with Russia, in close cooperation with North Ossetia. According to the president, an agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance is at the stage of signing between South and North Ossetia.
"Our guidelines are aimed at Russia – it is our main foreign policy line, which should be followed actively by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic" - concluded Tibilov.
