South Ossetian fighter Richard Bitiev took second place of the VI International boxing tournament in memory of the world-class master of sports Nicolay Pavlyukov, held in the village of Vityazevo (Krasnodar territory, Russia).
As a coach of the athlete Alex Tedeev said the news agency "Res," in the final bout our boxer met in the ring with the winner of the championship of Russia, a member of the Moscow team, Khozhiakbar Mamakov. In a stubborn fight Bitiev conceded victory to his opponent with a slight advantage and has become a heavyweight silver medalist.
According to the coach, the path to the final of the competition was not easy to his ward.
"The bout for reaching the final of the competition with the Volgograd athlete, a champion of Russia Artem Suslenkov was exhausting for Bitiev, but he won on points," - said Tedeev.
He added that Bitiev had not fully recovered from the injury received before while training.
"Bitiev got his hand broken and for a long time he was not able to have qualified trainings, - added the coach. - In spite of this he showed excellent fighting qualities in the course of his bouts with such serious opponents. I was very pleased with his performance in the tournament."
It should be noted that in the competition were taking part the sportsmen born in 1995-1996 from Russia, Abkhazia, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Cuba, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Belarus and Bulgaria. The tournament consists of athletes born in 1995-1996.
Bitiev is trained by a master of sports Alex Tedeev and theworld-class master of sports Igor Dzagoev.
