A specialized customs agency of the Federal Customs Service of Russia is planned to be established in South Ossetia, which will deal with customs clearance of goods transported through the Russian-South Ossetian border.
This was reported to the news agency "Res" by the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the RSO Murat Tskhovrebov, commenting on the results of the meeting of representatives of the State Customs Committee of the RSO and Federal Customs Service of Russia, held the day before in Tskhinval.
"We have also discussed the establishment of one more specialized customs agency of South Ossetia at the checkpoint of ''Lower Zaramag'' across the Russian-South Ossetian border, - told Tskhovrebov . - In addition, we have discussed with our Russian counterparts the issues to improve the procedure of customs clearance of goods, transported across the state border, vehicles, vehicles of international transportation, as well as the specialized vehicles. "
According to the head of the State Customs Committee, the meeting was productive and held in a constructive atmosphere. Following the discussion of these issues, the two parties signed a protocol.
Tskhovrebov noted that South Ossetian and Russian customs officials had expressed the need for further similar events.
It should be noted that the Russian delegation consisting of Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev, the head of the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights Gennady Onishchenko, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Federal Migration Service, Federal Customs Service and other Russian government agencies, arrived in South Ossetia on a working visit in the evening of April 7.
The purpose of the visit is participation in working meetings with counterparts of the South Ossetian core ministries and agencies.
