South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov has received the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, led by Speaker Anuar Chechenov. The meeting was attended by Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia Stanislav Kochiev, the first Vice-Speaker of the RSO Parliament Jury Dzitstsoity, members of the legislative body of Kabardino-Balkaria.
Leonid Tibilov has greeted the visitors, noting that the Republic always felt the support of the fraternal peoples of the Caucasus.
"This support inspires us to work. The fact that Kabardino-Balkaria and South Ossetia are friends - it is not just words. We always have to be in close contact and support each other," - said the president.
He has also thanked the guests for the invaluable assistance provided by Kabardino-Balkaria in August 2008.
"Today South Ossetia is the recognized Republic. August 26 we will be marking the fifth anniversary of the recognition of our sovereignty. I`d like to take this opportunity to invite you to take part in the festivities on this occasion," - said Tibilov.
The President has expressed the hope that the signing of a Memorandum of parliamentary cooperation will provide for the development of relations not only between the two parliaments, but also between the two brotherly peoples.
In turn, Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria Anuar Chechenov said that since his last visit to the Republic, a lot had changed here.
"The Republic has been reviving, a lot has been done for its rehabilitation, and I believe that the people understand it," - said the speaker.
He has noted that the signing of the document on cooperation will serve as another major step towards the development and strengthening of relationships between Kabardino-Balkaria and South Ossetia in all areas.
"In addition, currently the signing of a treaty of friendship and cooperation between South Ossetia and Kabardino-Balkaria is at the stage of preparation," - said Leonid Tibilov.
At the end of the meeting the sides exchanged souvenirs.
