Representatives of South Ossetia participated in a round table in Vilnius (Lithuania), which discussed the events of the Georgian-South Ossetian war in August 2008. As the news agency "Res" was informd by the editor of the newspaper "South Ossetia" Zalina Tskhovrebova, representatives of South Ossetia had participated in the discussion through the space bridge set up between Tskhinval and Vilnius.

The round table was organized by the Vilnius Russian-language newspaper "Review."
"We have told them what happened in South Ossetia five years ago, that almost all the people witnessed this aggression, and the notorious western "democracy" at that time was misinforming the world about the war. The roundtable participants were shocked by our stories of the horrors of the war in August 2008, "- said Tskhovrebova.
On that day, the right-wing forces in Vilnius, supporting Georgia, organized a picket in front of the Russian Embassy, with slogans that Russian troops should withdraw their troops from the "occupied" territories of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
"In this context, our participation in the round table was very important. We tried to turn the tide in the information space, where today there were heard our views, "- said Tskhovrebova.
Deputy Minister of Education of South Ossetia Maya Zasseeva told the participants of the round table what she had had to go through those five days.
"When I grabbed my three year old child and ran to the basement, in front of my eyes flashed the pictures how my mother with me in her arms had also run to the cellar in 1992, when Georgia had once again attacked South Ossetia", - said Zasseeva.
She has assured that she will dedicate her life to peacemaking, that the children of South Ossetia will never see such a terrible war.
Zalina Tskhovrebova has noted that during the round table one of the participants has cited the excerpts from the works of the Georgian historians, which states that in the ancient world there was no the Georgian kingdom, and in the territory of modern Georgia was Alania. And the Alans allowed the Kartli tribes to come to their land.
All participants of the round table expressed their support for South Ossetia and condemned the actions of Georgia in August 2008.
