Prospects for socio-economic co-operation between South Ossetia and Russia, as well as a common humanitarian space of Ossetia were discussed at the session within the framework of the international theoretical and practical conference held yesterday in Tskhinval.
The session was addressed by the Director of the State Unitary Enterprise "Complex processing industries" Cicero Khakhanov, Doctor of Economics Boris Margoev, Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of North Ossetia- Alania Kazbek Tuganov, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Johnny Kachmazov, Director of the South-Ossetian Research Institute Robert Gagloyty, Doctor of History Ruslan Bzarov, MP Meliton Kazity.
Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Johnny Kachmazov told about the natural resources of South Ossetia. According to him, for the effective development the domestic agricultural sector must be based on the introduction of innovative approaches to solving problems.
"This will significantly increase the level of the natural resource potential of South Ossetia for growing agricultural crops - said Kachmazov. Natural- resource potential of South Ossetia, which ensures the functioning of agro-industrial complex, includes the agro-climatic conditions, topography, land and aquatic resources, mineral resources, allowing their use as environmentally safe fertilizers and mineral supplements. The soil in our country meets the requirements of crops for sustainable harvest. "
Agro-industrial complex of the country, according to Kachmazov, has certain reserves for its development, which is necessary for the implementation of the comprehensive development of agriculture.
"It includes the establishment of processing plants - said Kachmazov. - As a result, there will be created new jobs, will increase rural incomes and food security of the Republic will be ensured. Moreover, it is important to take into account modernization of the industry, the increase in crop production, the expansion of assortment of growing vegetables, as well as government lending and support businesses, financial and organizational control. "
It should be noted that the international theoretical and practical conference "The Republic of South Ossetia before and after the recognition of the state independence by the Russian Federation " was held to promote strengthening of the statehood and socio- economic development of the country.
