Prospects of bilateral relations between South Ossetia and the State of Eritrea were discussed at a meeting of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov with members of the Eritrean delegation headed by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh.
As IA "Res" has been informed at the press service of the President and the government of South Ossetia, in the course of the conversation the President has noted that the fate of the peoples of both countries have certain similarity.
Leonid Tibilov told the guests about the struggle of the people of South Ossetia for freedom, a landmark event for the Republic - Russian recognition of its independence in August 2008.
"Today we are working on strengthening our statehood. We will develop relations with other countries that recognize us. Colleagues from the Foreign Ministry are actively engaged in this direction. South Ossetia is an effective and democratic state," - the president said.
Leonid Tibilov has noted that South Ossetia intends to continue the work on recognition of its independence by the states of Africa, Latin America and Asia.
Eritrean side thanked for the high level of reception in Tskhinval, noting the efficiency of consultations held in Tskhinval and invited to continue the dialogue in the capital of Eritrea.
The delegation was also received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia. According to the press service of the RSO Foreign Ministry, during the conversation the parties discussed prospects of bilateral relations, the development of political dialogue and potential cooperation in various fields.
