In Tskhinval marked the Day of the missing persons

In Tskhinval has been held a commemorative event dedicated to the International Day of missing persons, organized by the Committee of missing persons` families, with support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The event was attended by Parliament Speaker Anatoly Bibilov, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, Rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tadeev, Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights Inal Tasoev, families of the Missing citizens of South Ossetia, MPs and members of the public.
The event began with an exhibition of paintings of the families of the missing persons represented by more than 40 handmade works.
Head of the Committee of the missing persons` families Lydia Kudzieva thanked those present for their attention.
Anatoly Bibilov has expressed hope that the missing will return to their families and friends.
"We remember the people who were supposed to be with us, - he said. - These people were victims of ambitions of political leaders. The worst thing in this situation is ignorance. Families do not know whether to wait for their missing relatives or make up their mind to the fact that they are dead. I want to say them so many kind words, support them and make them feel that they are not alone in their grief. "
Murat Dzhioev has noted that the government has been making every effort to clarify the fate of the missing persons.
"This is a day of hope not only for us, but for many countries in the world - said the envoy. - Not knowing where their dearest people are - it's very scary, because you do not know whether to wait, or to mourn. "
Murat Dzhioev thanked the Committee of the Missing Persons` Families for their work, the International Committee of the Red Cross for their active participation in search for the missing persons, for psychological and social assistance to their families.
In turn, the delegate of the ICRC Department of Defense Genghis Rayimbekov addressed with words of support to the families of the missing persons and thanked those present for their attention, participation, and compassion.
"We provide assistance to the authorities and the families of the missing persons in search for their loved ones. We provide all possible assistance, including psychological to those who are hoping and waiting for, "- said Rayimbekov.
The event ended with a presentation of the book to the memory of the families of the missing "Memories of a lifetime".
