South Ossetia will be represented by 60 participants at the World Festival of Youth and Students
Representatives of South Ossetia will take part in the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students, which will be held from October 14 to 22 in Sochi.
As reported to IA "Res" by the head of the delegation, head of the department of republican programs of the committee for youth policy, sports and tourism Valentina Gatikoeva, South Ossetia will be represented by 60 people at the festival.
"The festival is attended by talented, smart guys, among them creative youth, students, journalists, sportsmen, leaders of youth organizations. We will try to present our republic from the best side, "- said Valentina Gatikoeva.
According to Gatikoyeva, the participants will have a unique discussion, sports and cultural program, which will be held on the territory of the Olympic Park.
A student of the South Ossetian State University Alana Mamiyeva noted that she had long dreamed of becoming a member of the World Festival.
"My dream has come true, in four days I'm going to Sochi. For me it is a great joy. I am sure that this festival I will remember for a lifetime. I want to thank all the organizers of our trip, "Mamieva said.

The first world festival of youth and students was held in 1947 in Prague and became the longest in the history of the festival movement.
The most massive in the history of the festival movement was the VI World Festival, which was held in 1957 in Moscow. Representatives of 131 countries took part in it.
More than 20 thousand young people from 150 countries will take part in this year's World Festival of Youth and Students
The festival is designed to strengthen international relations, develop interethnic and intercultural interaction, and increase interest in Russia.
The slogan of the 2017 World Festival of Youth and Students: "For peace, solidarity and social justice, we are fighting against imperialism - respecting our past, we are building our future!"
The symbol of the festival is a multi-colored chamomile: it symbolizes the continuity of traditions, the connection of generations, the peace and unity of the entire population of the planet. This time, its main element was colored pixels as a sign of the generality of youth throughout the world in the era of information and technological progress.
