The Parliament of South Ossetia supported the previously adopted statement of the Federation Council of Russia, in which Russian senators condemned the entry into force of the law of Ukraine "On the peculiarities of state policy to ensure the state sovereignty of Ukraine over temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Lugansk regions."
In their decision, the South Ossetian parliamentarians have noted that by adopting this law "official Kiev is trying to absolve itself of responsibility for the consequences of the humanitarian and socio-economic situation in Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as to justify its actions to use armed forces against its citizens who refused to support a coup on Ukraine in 2014".
As stressed by the Parliament of South Ossetia, the law contradicts the international obligations assumed by Ukraine in accordance with the set of measures for the implementation of the Minsk agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 and approved by the UN Security Council resolution of February 17, 2015.
The South Ossetian have lawmakers summarized that Ukraine itself is the victim of a consistent aggressive state policy, which has been conducted for many years by Ukrainian authorities, but not by Russia.
"It is Russia that has become the key political and economic partner of Ukraine since the first days of independence of Ukraine, and today this fraternal country is rapidly turning into an anti-democratic state, in which Russophobia is trying to be fixed legislatively as a national ideology," the parliamentary resolution says.
The deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia stated that the daily practice in Ukraine was numerous cases of infringement of the media, bans on the actions of the opposition, pogroms, violations of the rights of national minorities and much more.
"The Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia believes that the way out of the impasse in which the Ukrainian authorities are today, is possible only by the only sure way - to force Ukraine to peace and achieve the implementation of the Minsk agreements," the South Ossetian legislature stressed.
The South Ossetian parliamentarians recognized the law of Ukraine "On the peculiarities of the state policy on ensuring the state sovereignty of Ukraine over the temporarily occupied territories in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions", which came into force, as a document to justify the policy that threaten the European security.
