President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, at the head of the South Ossetian delegation, who took part in the farewell ceremony with the commander of the international brigade "Pyatnashka" Oleg Mamiev, spoke at the mourning rally in Vladikavkaz.
According to the press service of the head of state, Anatoly Bibilov noted the high human qualities of Oleg Mamiev, who deserved universal love and respect.
"Today here South and North Ossetia, representatives of the Donbass, are mourning together for Oleg. His worthy behavior, willingness to give his life for justice earned him respect and glorified Ossetia. Oleg Mamiev absorbed the best qualities of the Ossetian warrior, which he showed, defending the Donbass," - said the President of South Ossetia.
Anatoly Bibilov thanked all those who came togive the last honors to Mamay.
"I want to express my sincere gratitude on behalf of myself and on behalf of Oleg Mamiev`s family, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko for the honors given to Oleg, whom he called his brother. I also want to thank Akhru Avidzba, the hero of the Donetsk People's Republic, the Chairman of the Alexander Boroday Volunteer Union, those guys who came from Donetsk to give the last honors to Oleg," the head of state said.
He has noted that Oleg Mamiev, being in Donbass, was fighting against neo-fascism, which, according to Bibilov,everywhere has the same essence.
"There are those who ask today why Oleg Mamiev was fighting in Donbas, why he did not stay in Ossetia. I will answer that there weredifficult times in South Ossetia, when Russian guys came to us, we were happy that we were not alone, that there were those who shared our pain, we were happy to see everyone who stood next to the defenders of the Fatherland," - said Bibilov.
According to him, Oleg Mamiev was fighting in the DPP against those forces that were responsible for the genocide of the Ossetian people.
"He was fighting against those who, 26 years ago, on May 20, shot innocent people on the Zar road, against those who had buried people alive in Ered simply because they were Ossetians, against those who in 2008 planned to do pure field in South Ossetia. I believe that Oleg did the right thing and for neo-fascism 1000 km is not the distance. But they have been rebuffed in Ossetia, in Abkhazia and today are being rebuffed in the Donbas. Fascism will not pass until there are people like Oleg Mamiev, like Givi, like Motorola," - Anatoly Bibilov said.
Hundreds of people took part in the mourning events in Vladikavkaz.
