The South Ossetian examination gave a clear picture of the causes of death of the Georgian citizen, Archil Tatunashvili, said Yegor Kochiev, Deputy Presidential Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement, after a meeting of participants of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms in Ergneti.
"At today's meeting, it has been announced that Georgia has its own medical opinion on the causes of Tatunashvili's death, which they did not give us, neither the OSCE representatives, or the EU observer mission," Kochiev said. "In principle, we do not need it, because in the conclusion of the South Ossetian examination everything is extremely clearly described."
Deputy Plenipotentiary Envoy has added that he absolutely trusts the results of the South Ossetian medical examination.
"I cannot believe or disbelieve the conclusion of the Georgian expertise, because, firstly, it was not provided, and secondly, I have no reason to verify its reliability, because I absolutely trust the conclusions of the South Ossetian examination," Kochiev emphasized.
The South Ossetian diplomat has also commented on publications in the Georgian press, whose authors claim that Tatunashvil allegedly had more than 100 injuries on his body.
"They were inflicted on him after his death," Kochiyev said.
The meeting in the framework of the MPRI also discussed security issues on the state border of South Ossetia with Georgia, including violation of the borders of the Republic
"Over the period from the previous meeting within the framework of the IPRMI, 8 Georgian citizens violated the state border, among them there was a priest who was released without any sanctions," said Kochiev.
He has added that the issues of delimitation and demarcation of the state border, prevention of grass fires in the border areas were also raised
