The participation of the delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia headed by President Anatoly Bibilov in the V Yalta International Economic Forum was the topic of a regular briefing by the head of the State Information and Press Committee, Maria Kotaeva, at the Sputnik-South Ossetia platform.

The first Deputy head of the Presidential Executive Office of South Ossetia, Alan Dzhussoev, spoke about the prospects for cooperation and, in general, about the significance of participating in such events for South Ossetia.

According to him, "The V Yalta International Economic Forum is not so much an economic as a political event designed to draw attention to the Crimea, so that politicians, businessmen can see with their own eyes that Crimea is not an occupied territory, and people in the Republic live a normal life."

"As for the visit of the head of state and his attention to social issues, it’s true that Anatoly Bibilov pays great attention to unprotected segments of the population, sick children, the poor, etc. Foreign policy did not also remain unheeded. For example, last year was busy enough with trips, both to the Russian Federation and foreign countries. Due to this we can talk about ourselves everywhere, moreover, based on the conditions in which our southern neighbors put us, we simply must be present everywhere/ People need to hear and understand us, "- said Alan Dzhussoev.

South Ossetia and the Crimea

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office has noted that historical facts indicate that the largest number of Ossetians killed during the World War II, was in the battles of Kerch.

“The fact that Kerch and Tskhinval will be twinned cities is also not an accident, since our veterans - grandfathers and great-grandfathers shed their blood for today's city of Kerch . On the eve of the anniversary of the Victory Day, this is a very good and right step,” said Dzhussoev.

Of no small importance, in his opinion, is the signing of various legal documents on cooperation, including the signed Implementation Plan for signed agreements from 2019 to 2022.

Export and attraction of investors

According to Dzhussoev, viticulture is a promising area of development, although returns are not immediate.

“But the development of this industry gives new jobs, and the product itself is both an advertisement and a brand of the country that produces it. I hope that we will be able to participate in other economic projects in the Crimea. There are prospects for development, and the President pays special attention to these issues. For other guests of the Yalta Forum, this event is the evidence that Russia pays great attention not only to the Crimea, but also to those states that are partners of the Russian Federation,” the expert emphasized.

The First Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office of South Ossetia has noted that South Ossetia will supply wine to those countries that are ready to buy it. As for the export of drinking water, in his opinion, there is a lot of water in South Ossetia, one need to bring it into marketable form and start exporting it to other cities and countries.

“The so-called water areas are developing quite successfully here. And now we need to increase the volume, find partners and realize it. The heads of the Crimea and South Ossetia have noted that the Forum is not so much economic as political. And they showed that everything is stable in the Crimea and investments can be made. South Ossetia should follow this path, as our republics are very similar in this respect,” said Dzhussoev.

He has also reminded that the Crimea became known thanks to the distant ancestors of the Ossetians - the Scythians.

“There was a state that existed for more than 110 years, they had their own fleet, coins, and barrows remained. We should not forget about Scythian gold. What is connected with culture, history, etc. we have something to share that to each other. And why our archaeologists cannot take part in the excavations in the Crimea ", - said Alan Dzhussoev.
