The veterinary fence on the section of the state border of South Ossetia with Georgia, in the area of the settlement of Mugut (Chorbaul) of the Znaur district of the Republic, was removed in mid-April.
As you know, artificial injection was created around the installation of the fence. The opposition political forces practically equated the veterinary fence with the state border, which frightened the local residents, who also began to believe that the state border line was moved deep into the South Ossetian territories.
In order to avoid the usual rumors about the mythical "surrender of the South Ossetian lands", the head of state Alan Gagloev even promised during his press conference that the issue with the veterinary fence would be resolved, as proof that he had nothing to do with changing the state border line.
The interesting fact is that earlier the villagers themselves turned to the leadership of the Republic with a request to ensure the safety of the villagers.
In a collective letter, residents address the head of state with a request, in addition to resolving the issue of the poor condition of rural roads and street lighting, to resolve the issue of the open section of the border.
Regular inconveniences to the villagers were caused by cases of livestock crossing on the other side of the border and attempts to drive them back. In order to avoid such incidents, a protective fence was laid, which in no way marked the line of the state border.
It should be reminded that on the issue of the protective fence in the Mugut — Chorbaul area, the head of state met in the Parliament and with members of the Parliament, where residents of the above villages were also present.
As noted by Natalya Bosikova, press Secretary of the President, "the conversation was honest and open."
“The President indicated that if they consider the installation of a veterinary fence as a surrender of the territory of the Republic, then it will be removed and he will resolve this issue. The position of Alan Eduardovich was accepted in return with gratitude and said that they had other information. It turns out that it is in someone's hands to rock the situation in such a difficult period,” said Bosikova.
According to her, “there is an understanding of how tense the situation is today in the world and around South Ossetia, and artificially escalating the situation around the state border issue means assisting the “fifth column” in Georgia in implementing plans to open a “second front”.
