A meeting took place in Moscow between Konstantin Kochiev—State Advisor to President of South Ossetia and the head of the South Ossetian delegation to the International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia—and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, as well as the Abkhazian Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits.
"The meeting was held as part of preparations for the next round of the International Discussions, scheduled for November. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination on key agenda items, noting the format's importance as an indispensable platform for direct dialogue and the discussion of practical issues regarding security and stability. A substantive exchange of views took place concerning key agenda items for the upcoming consultations within the International Discussions framework," the Russian Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
The participants discussed developments in the region and the current state of regional security. Ensuring reliable security for South Ossetia and Abkhazia remains a key focus, including the signing of a legally binding agreement on the non-use of force.
