The 20th anniversary meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on socio-economic cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia will be held on Friday in Tskhinval.
The Russian delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko are arriving at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Tskhinval; the delegation includes the head of the Ministry of the North Caucasus Affairs Sergey Chebotarev, the head of the Presidential Office for Cross-Border Cooperation. The parties will discuss issues of providing financial assistance by Russia to the Republic of South Ossetia for its socio-economic development.
According to the press service President and the Government, the meeting will be led by the co-chairs - Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Vitaly Mutko and the Chairman of the Government of the Republic Eric Pukhaev. President Anatoly Bibilov will take part in the meeting. The participants will discuss the implementation of the Investment Program to promote socio-economic development of the Republic for 2019, the decisions of the Co-Chairs of the IGC to adjust the Investment Program, as well as the implementation of the second stage of modernization of the education and healthcare systems of South Ossetia.
The agenda also includes the approval of the Investment Program for Promotion of Socio- Economic Development of the Republic of South Ossetia for 2020–2022, which consists of the activities related to the real economy sector, tourism, construction of engineering networks, development of communications and other socially significant facilities.
In addition to participating in the plenary session of the Commission the program of the Russian delegation’s stay in the Republic includes inspection of facilities implemented as part of the Investment Program to promote socio-economic development of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The visit of the Russian delegation on Friday afternoon will begin with the laying of flowers at the Memorial Complex on the territory of the secondary school No. 5. In the evening the guests will see the play "Forest" at the Kosta Khetagurov State Drama Theater.
