At the Rossotrudnichestvo representation in South Ossetia was honored schoolchildren who had taken part in the V World Compatriots Games in Khanty-Mansiysk. The South Ossetian team took the 5th place in the team competition, and also won in individual nominations.
President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the RSO Marat Kulakhmetov congratulated the children on the achievements at the international level event.
Bright and recognizable uniform
Gratitude to the President for a new uniform tailored for schoolchildren was expressed by the President of the South Ossetian Chess Federation, Georgy Shavlokhov.
“Thanks to these costumes in the color of the Ossetian tricolor, our team was very bright and recognizable. People were interested in where we were from. On the first day, when we went to the supermarket, the Ossetian, who is serving in Khanty-Mansiysk, recognized us as his compatriots when seeing our uniorm, and then bought 3 kilograms of snickers chocolate for children. A deputy from North Ossetia also bought ice cream for children at the airport. Our form was conspicuous, and everyone paid attention to us,” said Shavlokhov.
"Pilgrimage for the Ossetian pies"
Shavlokhov also noted the attention of the head of the Ossetian diaspora of the Khanty-Mansiysk Valery Abaev to the children from South Ossetia.
“We know that you called the head of the Ossetian diaspora so that he would give us attention. We also know that he sent on your online photos from a chess tournament in which our participants excelled,” the Federation President noted, addressing the President.
According to Georgy Shavlokhov, Valery Abaev brought 9 Ossetian pies to the hotel where the children were staying.
“We went to the canteen and shared pies with other teams, and a “little pilgrimage” lined up for the Ossetian pies,” he said.
Unexpected victories
Georgy Shalokhov told about the achievements of the participants from South Ossetia at a large-scale event in which 60 countries participated.
“During the competition in the Russian language, questions were asked on culture, history of Russia, politics, sports, and our participants eagerly answered them. At the end, when the judges began to sum up and announced the victory of South Ossetia, our team simply “exploded” with joy, it was incredibly nice, said Shavlokhov. - Further, the first place in the nomination “The Most Beautiful Chess Game” was awarded to our participant, Batradz Chochiev.
Thanks to the participants
The head of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic, Sergey Skvortsov, has added that the team from South Ossetia was noted for discipline, organization, desire to win.
“Our participants won an absolute victory in competitions in the Russian language in all nominations, which is good news,” Skvortsov noted.
Anatoly Bibilov expressed his gratitude to the children for their successful participation in the V World Games, and also wished them continued success.
“Achievements at such large -scale competitions are a real victory. We are proud of you, your brilliant results. You showed not just high culture, your abilities in sports and in the intellectual game, but most importantly, you demonstrated organization and personal discipline,” the President stressed.
Anatoly Bibilov has added that 2019 is rich for South Ossetia in achievements in championships and competitions.
"Cannot but rejoice also the victory of our gymnasts, football team in the championship according to the version of ConIFA, the victory of the Schoolgirls of our Republic at the international competition "Ah Yes Pushkin!""- he said.
The head of state has added that all participants of the V World Compatriots Games in Khanty-Mansiysk will receive prizes from the President.
