Foreign media journalists made a press tour to the Republic of South Ossetia. An excursion around the Republic was organized for them, the journalists visited educational and cultural facilities, got acquainted with the traditions and history of the Ossetian people. In addition, they managed to interview the President of the Republic, Anatoly Bibilov. The team of journalists who visited the Republic has included the head of the Moscow bureau of the Syrian news agency SANA, Fachem Kamnakesh, the correspondents of the Syrian TV channels Sana, Saam and Alikhbaria, as well as a columnist for the news agency Irna (Iran) and a correspondent for the TV channel Tsargrad.
The journalists expressed their gratitude for the invitation and the opportunity to talk with the President of the country.
According to the head of state, it is very important for him to communicate with journalists from such reputable information resources, “especially as Syria is a brotherly country for us.”
Fahem Kamnakesh was interested in the opinion of the leadership of South Ossetia on the situation and developments in Syria, how they can influence on the region as a whole. In addition, the media representatives wanted to see the situation in South Ossetia after the August 2008 war. The development of bilateral relations between Syria and South Ossetia, and how Anatoly Bibilov assesses it, did not stand aside.
The journalists touched upon the official visit of the head of the South Ossetian state to Syria, and asked to comment on the current situation in Syria in the light of the victories achieved by the Syrian-Arab armies over the terrorists.
Anatoly Bibilov answered this question from the perspective of a military man. “Any victory inspires. And the fact that the Syrian-Arab Republic and the Syrian army achieve such success is largely due to the Russian armed forces. It is completely obvious that, apart from the Russian and Syrian army, no one could give such a serious rebuff. The achievements of the Syrian army make us happy, we are partners, our countries are friendly states. And we want peace to reign in Syria,” stressed Bibilov.
The journalists also asked about the development of the Republic, about the relations between Russia and South Ossetia. They also touched upon the information war, which is actively being waged both against Syria and against South Ossetia.
The questions concerned various spheres of vital activity of the Republic, but the journalists focused on the foreign policy situation.
The head of state answered all questions in detail, using specific facts and citing examples from the recent history of South Ossetia.
