The first stream of the educational course for Ossetian youth “Ethno-camp - 2019” in North Ossetia completed its work. It was attended by 48 representatives of Ossetian youth living in different countries and cities of Russia, Ossetians from South Alania, Kazakhstan, Ireland, Germany, France, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Syria, Tajikistan and Georgia.
From July 29 to August 3, excursions were conducted for them in many gorges of North Ossetia-Alania. The camp participants visited Fiagdon, Ursdon, Upper Sanib, Zadalesk and other interesting places. With great enthusiasm, they traveled many kilometers through the mountains.
According to the press service of the Committee on Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism of the Republic, a second stream was collected on Sunday, the participants of which will visit South Ossetia from August 7 to 9.
Ethno-camp is a summer cultural and educational course for Ossetian youth living outside the region. It is being implemented as part of the subprogram “Interaction with compatriots abroad and the development of humanitarian relations of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania” of the state program of the republic “Development of Interethnic Relations”.
Ossetians are the only nation of the North Caucasus speaking the Indo-European language - a descendant of the language of the Scythians, Sarmatians and Alans.
