President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov met with the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic in Brazil Andrei Tibilov, the press service of the President said.
South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev also attended the meeting.
Andrei Tibilov told the President about his work, about the prospects for establishing relations with the political forces and business circles of Brazil.
In turn, Anatoly Bibilov noted the importance of strengthening the position of South Ossetia in the world.
“Andrey Vasilyevich, thank you so much for the work that you are doing in Latin America, this is necessary. And the steps that are being taken to ensure that the Republic is recognizable, so that the processes that took place in South Ossetia, the legal foundations of our state, are known and understandable in the world, are very important. We have a lot of friends in Latin America, because these are countries that themselves were fighting for their freedom. And they understand and are close to our struggle for independence from Georgia. We will jointly increase this work, establish relations in the economic, cultural and other fields that may be of mutual interest,” the head of state said.
