Not a single mistake has been made in the progressive formation of the statehood of South Ossetia
Murat Dzhioev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia for Post-Conflict Settlement, believes that every date, every step in the development of the Republic has its own place.
In the recent history of South Ossetia there are many fateful events and dates, but, unambiguously, in the opinion of the envoy, one single date cannot be distinguished.
“In the progressive formation of our statehood, we practically did not make a single mistake. If we took the wrong steps in the 90s, then the West would simply crush us, and Torez Kulumbegov (the first leader of the Republic of South Ossetia, author's note) would be condemned as a criminal. And he was recognized as a prisoner of conscience No. 1, and the Georgian authorities, with all their diligence, were not able to charge him and convict him for a year,” said Dzhioev.
According to the Plenipotentiary, this indicates the correct actions of the leadership and people of South Ossetia.
“All dates - September 20, January 9, May 29 are important in the history of South Ossetia. Our people have unequivocally chosen Russia as a foreign policy reference point, followed this path without turning a meter, and on August 26, 2008 Russia recognized a real state that has gone through all stages of growth,” said Murat Dzhioev.
