The co-chairs of the Geneva discussions will arrive in South Ossetia on Tuesday to discuss with the South Ossetian colleagues the agenda for the upcoming round of the Geneva discussions, IA “Res” was reported by the office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic for post-conflict settlement.
“The co-chairs will arrive in Tskhinval tomorrow, together with their South Ossetian colleagues they will discuss the agenda of the upcoming round of Geneva discussions, which will be held on October 8 and 9,” the Envoy said.
It has been noted that the delegation will include the EU co-chair Toivo Klaar, the OSCE co-chair Rudolf Mikhalka, the UN co-chair Cihan Sultanoglu, the UN employee Hailu Mamo, etc.
The Geneva discussions on security and stability in the Transcaucasia are held since 2008 and remain the only platform for Georgia’s dialogue with South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Representatives of Russia, the USA, the UN, EU and OSCE co-chairs also take part in the negotiations. The main goal of the discussions is to reach an agreement on the non-use of force between Tskhinval and Tbilisi, Sukhum and Tbilisi.
