Tedeev’s team won five gold medals at the tournament – the world champions have become Zaur Uguyev (up to 57 kg), Gadzhimurad Rashidov (up to 65 kg), David Baev (up to 70 kg), Zaurbek Sidakov (up to 74 kg) and Abdulrashid Sadulaev (up to 97 kg) ) A silver medal was won by Magomedrasul Idrisov (up to 61 kg), bronze medals were won by Haji Nabiev (up to 79 kg), Arthur Naifonov (up to 86 kg) and Alikhan Zhabrailov (up to 92 kg).
"We won 50 percent of the gold medals of the championship; the same amount is taken home by representatives of other countries. We don't recognize the rewards of other trials, so the result could have been even better. In Kazakhstan, we demonstrated the superiority of our school and specialist. I want to thank the whole team - trainers and athletes, they proved that nobody is better than us in the world, "Tedeev said.
"Despite the rampant politicization of sports, when our athletes are denied visas, sports still unite. Representatives of all countries still approach, communicate and congratulate each other. It's worth it," said the coach.
The team could not win only one license for the Olympics in Tokyo - in the weight class up to 125 kg. “We’ll get the licenses by all means. Let no one doubt that the Russian national freestyle wrestling team will perform at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in full force,” Tedeev assured
