For the fifth time, representatives of South Ossetia and Georgia could not agree at a technical meeting within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) on the only issue - the removal of the Georgian roadblock in the village of Tsnelis, the head of the South Ossetian delegation at these meetings, Yegor Kochiev, told IA "Res" .

The technical meeting was held on Tuesday on the border of South Ossetia in the area of the Georgian settlement of Ergneti for three hours. The meeting took place on the eve of the next round of the Geneva discussions on October 8-9, where the discussion of this issue will also continue.

"The date of the next meeting in the IPRM format is still unknown," Kochiev said.

In late August, South Ossetia reported that Georgian police had put up an illegal roadblock on the territory of the Republic near the village of Tsnelis in Znaur district. The authorities of South Ossetia demanded that Georgia remove the police post by August 30, but Georgia continued to arrange the checkpoint. Later, the border guards of South Ossetia occupied a height above the Georgian police post and began to equip their posts as part of a special humanitarian operation to thwart Georgian attempts to establish control over part of South Ossetian territory.

The situation is being discussed at the technical meetings of the IPRM format with the participation of representatives of the OSCE, the EU and the Russian Federation, but so far to no avail.
