The Southern Gate International Economic Forum, which will be held in November in North Ossetia, will bring together business representatives from all the republics of the North Caucasus Federal District for the first time, said Otar Tsabolov, head of the business support department of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
"On November 15, the next forum "Southern gate" will be held, which from year to year becomes more and more large-scale. Last year it gathered more than 200 participants, this year the number will increase, as the business community of all the republics of the North Caucasus is invited for the first time. Entrepreneurs confirm the applications, because at the forum it is possible to establish business and partnership relations with foreign businessmen, " he told TASS.
Representatives of Iran, Turkey, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, South Ossetia, and Abkhazia have already confirmed their participation in the Fotum . It is expected that several agreements on cooperation in the field of trade and agriculture, industry and construction will be signed, Otar Tsabolov specified.
The foreign trade turnover of the Republic in 2018 amounted to more than 140 million dollars. Permanent partners of North Ossetia in the framework of foreign economic activity are the CIS countries and the near abroad. The Кepublic exports wood, grain, mineral and drinking water, electrical equipment, building mixes.
The Forum is organized by the Export Support Center of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania with the assistance of the Ministry of Economic Development of North Ossetia.
The national project "International Cooperation and Export" consists of five federal projects: "Industrial Export", "Export of Agricultural Products", "Logistics of International Trade", "Export of Services" and "Systemic Measures for the Development of International Cooperation and Export". It is aimed at achieving a 20% share of exports of manufacturing products, agricultural products and services in GDP, as well as a growth in export of non-primary non-energy products to $ 250 billion by 2024.
