Four new cases of coronavirus have been detected within a day in South Ossetia: among cadets and a serviceman

In South Ossetia, four more new cases of coronavirus were laboratory-confirmed during the day, two citizens recovered and were discharged the day before, Anna Gagloeva, Deputy Head of the Committee for the Protection of Consumer Rights and Welfare, told IA “Res,” on Wednesday.

“The day before, 43 tests were conducted, four showed a positive result - these are three cadets who had previously arrived from the Russian Federation, and a serviceman, all of them were quarantined. A total of 2,037 tests were conducted over the entire period,” Gagloeva clarified.

The first three cases of infection in the Republic were recorded on May 5. In total, during this period, there were confirmed 81 coronavirus patients, of whom 43 have recovered and are discharged to date.

According to the data of June 17, there are 38 patients with laboratory-confirmed coronavirus in the Tskhinval infectious diseases hospital, of which 35 are cadets.

In total, over 223 people are under observation, of which 119 in medical institutions of the republic, and 26 are self-isolated.

Until June 30, restrictions on the border of South Ossetia with Russia are in force due to the threat of the spread of the coronavirus; since February, the border with Georgia is completely closed.
