The information received by the State Security Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia indicates that the Tbilisi regime, despite repeated oral assurances of commitment to a peaceful and diplomatic settlement of the so-called “Tsиelis crisis”, entirely inspired by the Georgian special services, continues to destabilize the situation by deploying new infrastructure facilities in the immediate vicinity of the South Ossetian border.

"So, in the vicinity of the Sinagur settlement of the Dzau district of the Republic, the construction of the Georgian police checkpoint has been completed, where round-the-clock duty is organized. At the same time, the technical equipment and armament of employees serving on the post indicates their possible belonging to the special forces of Georgian law enforcement agencies. Georgian police squads carry out tasks related to the collection of information about the processes taking place in South Ossetia, which confirms their fulfillment of not only security functions, but also intelligence ones, "the KGB said on Monday.

These facts, according to the Committee, indicate that the Georgian side continues to increase its presence in the border zone of South Ossetia, instead of withdrawing its armed forces, stopping illegal construction work and de-escalating tensions, thereby creating additional security threats.

In this regard, the KGB emphasizes that such actions by the Georgian side do not help stabilizing the situation on the state border of South Ossetia and are contrary to the official position of Georgia on adherence to exclusively peaceful methods of resolving the situation.

Once again, the KGB RSO expresses gratitude to a number of Georgian NGOs and their patriotic leaders for assistance and interaction and also appeals to all concerned citizens of Georgia - patriots of their homeland - if there is any information about the unlawful activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service of Georgia on the borders of South Ossetia and Georgia, to provide it to the South Ossetian side for study and publicity.
